Good Times!

Today has been very eventful! The seller's called me this morning. Yesterday Time Warner was installing a fiber line in the area and ended up putting a hole in the gas line to the house. She smelled gas and called WE energies. Sure enough they confirmed it. They put a temporary shutoff clamp in and gave 2 options. Since they are no longer the owner she called us to make the decision. We're having a new line installed up to the house and the new meter will now be outside instead of inside.

Later on I call my Mom. Tell her closing went well, and we move in on the 15th. She busts out something about a letter she received regarding the chapter 13 bankruptcy my ex and I filed 3 years ago. Apparently the attorney is filing an application for obtaining an additional $2,000 in attorney fees. My Mom did not know about the bankruptcy previous to this letter. Anyways, I did not get the letter as they don't have my correct address. They called and got it from me this morning. Come to find out it's about this crap.

Another surprise my Mom sprung on me all non-nonchalantly: Dad was in the hospital for 2 weeks. 2 weeks and no one told me? WTF! Maybe she figured that it wasn't a big deal, it was only cellulitis, but still.

Next she fills me in on my Grandma. She's been staying with my parents for 2 weeks. She wants to die. She asked my Mom to put her in a home so she could die. I guess she has these heart attacks, which aren't really heart attacks, she looks like she is, feels like she is, but gets to the hospital and there's nothing wrong with her. She has done this at least 3 different times now. Since Grandpa died 2 years ago, she just feels like a burden and is lost. I feel bad for her.

We were supposed to go up to visit this weekend, but with all the recent drama and the car not acting right, I think I'm going with my gut and staying put. My gut is right most of the time!

TTFN! Have a great weekend everyone and be safe!

Update on life

Wow, I have really been slacking on my blogging lately!

Not a whole lot of excitement going on for me. Work is insanely busy and stressful. I swear I need a clone of myself and my knowledge. I am usually completely exhausted when I get home from work and want to do nothing but eat dinner and veg out.

One day this past week I decided I would walk home, well at least until the point where Rick would find me when he got off work. I get off about 1 hour earlier than him, so I get a decent head start, then if he's late getting off then I have more time. This particular day I walked about 5.2 miles an an hour 48 min. Not bad for me at all. Aside from the blister on the bottom of my toe caused by little gravel pieces all was good and will be doing this one day a week until it gets too cold/yucky out.

I have gone no where with my weightloss. This week I will be mixing it up a bit and doing half cardio half strength training workouts. We'll see if that helps. 60 lbs to go....it seems so far away. Meanwhile, Rick works out maybe 1 day a week and has lost another 10 lbs, putting him within 10 lbs of his goal. He sucks! Yeah, I'm just hatin' cause it is so hard for me.

Rick is almost done with school! Yay! That means that we can have our weekends back! No longer will we have to rush and get homework done, or do nothing on Sundays cause that's homework day. :D Tomorrow is his final (capstone) presentation. As soon as he's done putting the entertainment center back together we'll be going over his part then tomorrow it's all done!

We've had a couple weddings lately, one was his Mom's and one was his cousin's. I had a bit of a hard time at his cousin's just because it broght back memories of my wedding. Much was the same, bride's side (white) on one side and groom's side (black) on the other...someone complaining about the music. I must be getting old or something not so fun, I had 3 beers, 1 Mike's hard Cranberry, and 3 or 4 Smirnoff Twisteds and did not even get anything close to resembling a buzz. Then we went to another of Rick's cousin's house's and I had 3 more beers and a lemon drop shot. Still no buzz. Rick said he got a very slight buzz for a brief time period, but was also disappointed. Yet I can make one Appletini at home and be wasted! Go figure!

This morning I went to a baby shower for Rick's Step Sister. It was fun. I still felt like an ass because I said something to Rick about me not being invited last weekend. Then magically the day after he sees his Mom his Step Sister called me and appologized for not inviting me. I met Rick's Mom at her house then we car pooled out to the shower. It was a good time. It's amazing how much melted candy bars in diapers really does resemble poop!

Well, Rick is almost done with the EC so I'm calling it a day. Not sure when I'll make another entry, but I'll try to be better. I promise!

Sadness

Via Myspace this afternoon I found out that a friend of mine for High School's husband died. I sent her my condolences then checked the Hudson news paper Website. The first article I saw was in regard to a 34 year old man jumping off an overpass onto I-94 below. My immediate thought was NO this can't be. Continuing my reading I found his name. It was him. He jumped from the over pass and was then struck by 3 cars.

I feel horrible for his friends and family. They have 2 young children under the age of two that will never know their father. It is such a sad story. On this Website they allow comments on articles ~ most comments were postitive wishes for friends and family. However, some punk ass bitch named Steve S. from River Falls WI was making comments about shit on CCAP from years ago where charges were dropped by the prosecutor and making comments like good riddance, people like that should all be dead. What kind of person is this Steve guy? Besides an asshole!

Anyways, I am keeping my friend and her family in my prayers. I can only imagine what she is going through.

You call this parenting?

Yesterday Rick and I were eating at Subway inside Walmart in Franklin. When we were ordering we noticed a little girl maybe 5-6 years old sitting at one of the tables and playing with a nearby cart. There was an older gentleman at a table near that one who appeared to be watching her.

As we were eating at the table next to hers a woman came up with a baby in a car seat carrier. She told the little girl "I'm going to go get baby some food you sit here". o_O WTF you're going to leave a child sitting by herself at a table in the front of a Walmart store? The little girl protested and told the lady she wanted to go with. By the Mc Donald's Happy Meal bag sitting on the table I had the feeling the poor little girl was sitting there the whole time while this lady was doing all of her shopping. After the lady left we kept an eye on the girl and the guy who appeared to be watching her. Then he left, confirming the fact that this little girl was sitting by herself at that table with no adult supervision.

When the lady came back (with the baby food and all of her stuff checked out) she fed the baby from one of the cans she bought and yelled at the little girl for getting the baby's toy in the food. In her yelling at the little girl (who did VERY well sitting by herself) we found out that this was her Grandma! We had just finished eating and got out of there ASAP I had enough!

Although I am not a parent myself I find this completely appalling! You DO NOT under ANY circumstances leave a child of that age alone by themselves in public! It would have been SO easy for a stranger to walk up and take that girl out the door without anyone knowing any different. Big fricken whoop if the kid bothers you because she wants something...or everything...there's a response to that: NO! And I bet if something did happen to that little girl the "Grandma" would be all upset and whining.
